Governor of Aruba is a former volleyball player

 

ORANJESTAD, Aruba, October 27, 2007.- The Governor of Aruba and the principal public and private sports authorities of Aruba attended the opening session of the XIX NORCECA Congress.

 

His excellency Fredis Refunjol is a former volleyball player who represented the Netherlands Antilles in the NORCECA Championship of 1972 in Havana, Cuba.

 

“Is a great honour for us to host this congress that benefits the sport activity of volleyball and beach volleyball and I wish you a pleasant stay while in Aruba,” said Mr. Refunjol.

 

Also in attendance during the opening session were Mr. Ramon Lee, the Minister of Sports of Aruba, Mr. Celestino Lesire, President of Aruba Volleyball Association, Mr. Leoncio Maduro, President of the Olympic Committee of Aruba and Ms. Nicole Hoevertsz, the representative of IOC in Aruba.

 

The NORCECA Congress is being held at Hotel Radisson in Oranjestad and the different commissions of the organization are presenting reports to the assembly.
